One of the things that makes Game of Thrones different from other television shows is that a significant portion of its fans know what’s going to happen to the characters a lot of the time, since the show is based pretty closely on the book series, A Song of Ice and Fire. So there is always the threat of book readers spoiling the show for show watchers, but most of the time people keep their lips sealed. Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) would like to thank them for their restraint.

“I applaud them because, first of all they know much more than I do,” Peter tells CNN about the readers of A Song of Ice and Fire. “The internet is so easy to spoil things. People who’ve read all the books that are real fans of that who have known, at least speaking of Game of Thrones, they don’t ruin it for everyone else ... You know, it’s great, I mean why rob somebody of an experience that you had?”

Peter has a point. Just think, if book readers had spoiled the Red Wedding for show watchers, we wouldn’t have gotten all of those amazing reaction videos of people losing their minds at the injustice at the Twins. And for that, we are eternally grateful.
