Tyrion may be sentenced to die, but don’t worry, he’s not going anywhere. Scratch that, he’s going to Essos.

While awaiting his execution, Tyrion is busted out of jail by his brother Jaime. In the books, before Tyrion leaves, Jaime tells him that his first wife was not a whore as he had previously been told, he tells him that she really did love him and it was Tywin who orchestrated the whole whore story. Tyrion is not impressed.

Jaime then leads Tyrion to Varys, his coconspirator in the escape, and Varys leads Tyrion out a secret tunnel. However, said tunnel just happens to pass by a passageway to Tywin’s chambers, and Tyrion can’t resist paying his dear old dad a visit. He finds a crossbow on the way into Tywin’s room, and then he finds Shae... in Tywin’s bed. Tyrion kills Shae, then finds his father (on the toilet), and kills him, too. Tyrion then runs back down to Varys where he is whisked away across the scene to Pentos, probably not to be seen again until Season 5.
