Episode 9 of Game of Thrones Season 4 is upon us. The HBO epic has a habit of churning out series-changing moments in each season’s penultimate episode, from Ned Stark’s beheading in Season 1, to the Battle of the Blackwater in Season 2, to the Red Wedding in Season 3, and this season promises to be no different. Season 4, Episode 9, “The Watchers on the Wall”, is reportedly going to focus entirely on Mance Rayder’s invasion of the Wall, and according to A Song of Ice and Fire author George R. R. Martin, it’s going to be like nothing we’ve ever seen before.

“I’m really looking forward to [Episode 9],” Martin tells Entertainment Weekly. “As I’m told we have a battle that dwarfs the Battle of the Blackwater.”

In case you’ve forgotten, the Battle of the Blackwater featured Stannis’ failed invasion of King’s Landing, and it was the last time an entire episode took place in one location. That episode featured ships and massive explosions thanks to wildfire, as well as a battle on the ground with soldiers scaling walls, tons of sword fighting, and archers galore, so hearing that the Battle at the Wall is going to dwarf it has us pretty excited!

The battle begins Sunday, June 8 at 9 pm ET/PT on HBO.
