In Game of Thrones Season 4, we were introduced to our first Dornish characters: Oberyn Martell of Sunspear, and his lover Ellaria Sand. While Oberyn’s run on the show was short-lived, he made a big impression with the fans, and we would definitely like for there to be some repercussions felt in Dorne following his gruesome demise. So will we get to see Dorne in Season 5?

If the show continues to follow the books as closely as it always has, we should get some Dorne in Season 5. Dorne, and the Martell family, play a much larger role in the story moving forward starting in book 4, A Feast for Crows.

A supposed casting leak also suggests we’ll be getting a lot of Dorne, with calls for Oberyn’s brother and Lord of Sunspear, Doran Martell, Doran’s Captain of the Guard, Areo Hotah, Doran’s son Trystane, and several of Oberyn’s bastard daughters, the Sand Snakes. Missing from the report are Doran’s other two children: Arianne and Quentyn, both of whom are POV characters in the books, meaning we see the world through their perspective, and both are more central to the story than the Sand Snakes, for sure. The show has never cut out a POV character yet, so if they continue in that trend, we should get a lot of Dorne in season 5.
