Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer) had a pretty light season on Game of Thrones Season 4. She was going to be queen, then she wasn’t, now it looks like she might be queen again, albeit with a different king. So in Season 5, will Margaery finally get the royal treatment she’s been waiting for?

In what seems like a trend for Season 5, Margaery is going to have a tough time, at least if the books are any indication.
In the books, Margaery does marry Tommen, but their union doesn’t last long before Cersei meddles. Cersei accuses Margaery of infidelity, hiring some patsy to claim that he slept with Margaery. The biggest issue with this is that it’s a lie. Nonetheless, Margaery is imprisoned and questioned. Margaery quickly figures out that Cersei is behind the accusations, when one of Cersei’s co-conspirators confesses the truth. Cersei herself is then imprisoned, and Margaery is released but still has to stand trial.
The books leave off with both Cersei and Margaery awaiting their respective trials, though it looks like Margaery has a better chance of being found innocent than Cersei. It’s unclear how much of this plotline will be altered in the show, since just about everyone involved in the conspiracy has not been on the show previously. It’s possible the show will find other current characters to fill the roles required, but we’ll have to wait until Season 5 to find out.
Whatever the case, with think it's safe to say Cersei won't be content to let Margaery take over as the most powerful woman in King's Landing...
