Game of Thrones has answered a number of its biggest questions, such as who killed Jon Arryn, but there are still several mysteries the show has yet to unveil. Here are the five that keep us up at night.

5. What happened to Gendry? In Season 3, Gendry (Joe Dempsie) rowed away from Dragonstone, apparently never to be seen again. Where did he go? He was part of the main cast, and now he’s nowhere to be seen. Actor Joe Dempsey recently offered up an explanation of where he could be, but even so, we hope he returns in Season 5.

4. What’s Bran’s purpose? Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) has finally reached his destiny and met the three-eyed raven, and now we’re more confused than ever. An old man in a tree? The children of the forest? Bran’s going to fly? What’s it all mean?! Hopefully more light will be shed on this mind-boggling storyline in Season 5.

3. Where is Benjen Stark? A big mystery that remains unsolved from the show’s first season is the whereabouts of Jon Snow’s uncle, First Ranger of the Night’s Watch, Benjen Stark. Nobody talks about Benjen anymore, so it’s possible he’s just been lying dead and frozen in the snow for the last three seasons, but we hope there’s more to it than that.

2. What’s the deal with the White Walkers? The White Walkers are terrifying, but A Song of Ice and Fire author George R. R. Martin has said many times that this is not a story of good vs. evil. So if the White Walkers aren’t evil, what do they want? Why do they steal babies? Why are they heading south and killing people? Hopefully we find out some day.

1. Who is Jon Snow’s mother? Another big mystery from the first season of GoT is the identity of Jon Snow’s mother. The bastard’s parentage seemed like a big deal at the beginning of the series, but it hasn’t been mentioned in forever. We still feel like it’s probably important, but if the show doesn’t get around to revealing the truth soon, it may end up feeling like an afterthought.
