Assuming Lady Stoneheart really is axed from the adaptation, what does that mean for some of our other favorites from A Song of Ice and Fire? We speculate about some possible routes they could take.

In the books, Lady Stoneheart is the reanimated corpse of Cat Stark, brought back to life by Beric Dondarrion. She ends up leading the Brotherhood without Banners, seeking out anyone associated with the Red Wedding and executing them. Eventually — and here’s where the problems arise — she runs across Brienne and hangs her (and Pod) as an oathbreaker, only freeing her when she agrees to bring Jaime Lannister to Stoneheart. Where the books leave off, Brienne has found Jaime and is leading him somewhere, presumably to Stoneheart.
If the show doesn't include Stoneheart, they’re going to have to come up with new arcs for both Jaime and Brienne, and a new way for them to meet again, and possibly a new fate, since it’s likely that one or both of them meet their end during the encounter with Stoneheart, though we won't know for sure until The Winds of Winter comes out. This seems like a difficult task, since we can’t imagine anyone other than Cat Stark causing Brienne to turn against Jaime. So, what are the writers going to do?
We’ve heard rumors that Jaime heads to Dorne in Season 5, which further complicates things, since he won’t be anywhere near Brienne. Brienne, meanwhile, is wandering around the Vale where she very well may come across Sansa. Sansa, however, is doing just fine, so what will Brienne be able to offer her even if she does find her?
Perhaps Sansa, now an expert in “the game” and hungry for revenge against the Lannisters, tells Brienne that if she really wants to honor Cat Stark’s legacy, she will hunt down Jaime Lannister and bring him to justice at the Eyrie. We could then have Brienne meet Jaime after he returns from Dorne, and she could tell him the same lie she tells him in the books to get him to go with her (that the Hound has Sansa and is going to kill her). Then the two would be brought together, and be forced against one another not by Lady Stoneheart, but by her daughter, darkest timeline-Sansa.
But that's just one possibility. How do you think the show will handle the lack of Lady Stoneheart? Let us know in the comments below!
