Now that Stannis (Stephen Dillane) and Melisandre (Carice van Houten) are at the Wall on Game of Thrones, it could lead to some interesting interplay between characters who’ve never met before. For example, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Melisandre.
One person who thinks there could be something big brewing between these two in Season 5 is Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow.
“[Jon]’s suddenly confronted with a new redhead as well. He’s definitely got a type, Jon. He likes his redheads,” Kit says in an interview with Access Hollywood. “And there’s a great moment where Jon and Melisandre lock eyes over a fire and you know that that’s gonna be a big part of Season 5 – like how they interact, what their storyline is. She’s, for some reason, obsessed with bastard-born children — high-born children — and Jon doesn’t come any higher born or bastard [born], so I think there’s going to be a relationship there.”
Jon’s taste in redheads aside, what could be going on between these two in Season 5? Jon alludes to Mel’s interest in Gendry, but that was for his king’s blood, which as far as we know, Jon doesn’t possess. Ned was high born, but not a king. That said, the possibilities are intriguing, and it’s great to see far-flung characters finally coming together on Game of Thrones. Hey, maybe next Daenerys will finally show up in Westeros...
Hey, we can dream!
