When we last saw The Mountain (Thor Bjornsson) on Game of Thrones, we was lying on a table in a coma, nearly dead from the poison used on Oberyn’s spear during their fight. He is experimented on by creepy Qyburn at Cersei’s instruction, and we are led to believe that he will survive. If he does live, what happens to him in Season 5?

In the books, Qyburn experiments on The Mountain largely in secret. He claims that The Mountain died, and provides the crown a giant skull to send to Dorne as proof of his death, since the Martells call for his death after they hear he confessed to Elia's murder. However, some suspect that it is not really The Mountain’s skull, since no one has seen his body, and since there is no flesh left on the skull.

Later, Cersei ends up in hot water and facing a trial by combat; luckily for her an eight foot tall knight shows up in town named Ser Robert Strong. Qyburn claims to have discovered Strong, but there’s something very weird about him. Strong never eats, speaks, or removes his helmet, which leaves many to believe that it’s actually a zombiefied Mountain, who’s possibly missing a head.

The show pretty much confirmed Frankenstein’s Mountain in the Season 4 finale, with Qyburn stating that what he was doing to him would change him, but not weaken him. We can expect a new Mountain in Season 5, but don’t expect to see his face.
