When we last see Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) on Game of Thrones, he is embarking on what’s sure to be a super awkward road trip with agoraphobic Robyn Arryn and newly-sexified Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner). The relationship between Littlefinger and Sansa seems to have changed markedly, so what can we expect from Littlefinger in Season 5?

The problem with predicting Littlefinger’s storyline moving forward is that the show has already caught up with, and in some ways even surpassed, what happens in the books. In the books, Littlefinger plans to wed Sansa to Harry Hardyng, who is the heir to the Vale after Robyn. It’s during this wedding, which has yet to take place, that Littlefinger plans to then reveal Sansa as Sansa Stark to the Lords of the Vale, who still oppose Littlefinger’s leadership. But on the show, the Lords of the Vale are already on board with Littlefinger, and they already know Sansa’s identity, so what’s left for him to do?

Many fans believe that Littlefinger, who has been the force behind much of the turmoil  on the show, is due for a spectacular downfall, and that it will be brought about by none other than Sansa herself. Might Season 5 be the time for Sansa to overtake Littlefinger as the master manipulator, using her newfound-sexuality to oust him from his current seat of power? We’ll have to wait until Season 5 to find out.
