We know Season 5 of Game of Thrones is going to be big, but recent reports indicate it may be of biblical proportions.

Winter is Coming reports that the show may film in Israel for Season 5, possibly adding another new shooting location to the list after Spain has already been confirmed. Representatives from the show are reportedly interested in Timna Park, which is known for its “red stone formations and mountains of the valley and desert setting.” Sounds a lot like the famed Red Mountains of Dorne to us!

According to the report, nothing has been decided, and other desert locations are still being scoped out, including Jordan’s famous stone city of Petra, which was widely introduced to pop culture in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

While the Daenerys’ storyline often calls for a desert setting or two, we have a hunch that we could be looking at some outdoor shots of Dorne; after all, the show seems to already have their Meereen in Croatia. While Spain is reportedly serving as the setting for some of Dorne, we can’t imagine the famed deserts and Red Mountains of the southernmost of the Seven Kingdoms being done justice there. We’ll have to keep a close eye on announcements as filming locations continue to pour in, but our guess is Israel will end up with a Dornish flavor.
