The world of Game of Thrones is ever-expanding, and Season 5 is no exception. We recently learned that the show will be filming in Spain this year — more specifically in Seville, the capital of Andalusia. While no one has officially said this new location will be used to create Dorne, the kingdom that brought us Oberyn Martell, it seems like a pretty safe bet — Dorne was, after all, inspired by Moorish Spain.

Something else that seems like a safe bet? That there's truth to the rumors that the Alcázar of Seville will serve as the Martell's castle. After all, the gorgeous royal palace is a beautiful example of Moorish architecture. You can get a good look at it here.

As you can see, the castle is filled with open courtyards and beautiful gardens that create a very different impression than the harsh and crowded feel of King's Landing. We think the Alcázar of Seville would look incredible on film, and would give Dorne and the Marells a very distinct flavor, which is exactly what we want. As we all learned with Oberyn, the Dorne is very, very different than the rest of the Seven Kingdoms.
