In Game of Thrones Season 4, Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) was banished from Meereen by Daenerys and forced to set out on his own. Now a stranger with no friends in a foreign land, will Jorah meet his sad end in Season 5?

In the books, Jorah pops up again alive and well at a whorehouse in the city of Volantis, where he bumps into a certain Westerosi celebrity. Tyrion is also hanging out at this particular brothel, and Jorah kidnaps him, thinking that he can win back Dany’s trust if he brings her such a valuable prisoner from Westeros.
Jorah’s plans go awry when his ship is overcome by pirates. He fights valiantly but there are too many invaders, and he is beaten severely. He survives, but continues to be beaten nightly. He and Tyrion are both sold into slavery, and Jorah has a demon mask burned into the side of his face to mark him as an unruly slave. He definitely loses his will to live, but death won’t come to him.
Jorah and Tyrion eventually escape (Tyrion ironically rescues his original captor, Jorah) and they join the Second Sons, just as the Sons are about to fight for Yunkai against Meereen. This is where the books leave off Jorah, beaten down but with a new lease on life, hopeful that he might meet Dany once again.
The show could go in a different direction, of course, but we suspect Jorah will survive Season 5.
