So far on Game of Thrones, Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) has survived a lot. He’s made it through Alliser Thorne’s sadistic training, the battle at the Wall, heck, he even killed a White Walker. Sam is the unlikeliest of heroes, so will his luck finally run out in Season 5?

In the books, Sam doesn’t exactly stay out of danger. The first thing he does next is conspire to elect Jon Snow as the next Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, which not everyone is happy about. After Jon is elected, the first thing he does is send Sam away to Old Town so he can train to become a Maester, since the Night’s Watch’s current Maester, Aemon, is 100 years old. Unfortunately for Sam, they have to travel by boat.
Maester Aemon becomes sick on the journey, so they have to stop in Braavos. While there, Sam meets Arya (though he doesn’t know who she is) and gets into a fight with a brother from the Night’s Watch who accompanied him but chooses to desert and stay in Braavos. Sam almost drowns as a result of the fight, but is rescued by a man who just happens to have a ship that can take him to Old Town. Sam and Aemon board the ship, and one of them dies...
But it’s not Sam. After Aemon’s death, Sam makes it to the Citadel at Old Town, where he will likely face new dangers. But that’s a story for another season! So, unless the show really changes Sam's story, he will be alive at the end of Season 5. Score one for the good guys.
