On Game of Thrones, sarcastic sellsword Bronn (Jerome Flynn) has always been Tyrion’s sidekick, but with his employer splitting town at the end of Season 4, it seems like Bronn has become expendable. So, will Season 5 end up being Bronn’s swan song?

In the books, Bronn doesn’t actually appear again in the flesh, at least in the fourth and fifth book of the series. He doesn’t die, which is good, but his lack of page time doesn’t inspire confidence. He is mentioned a couple times by Cersei as being a major nuisance to her. First, he names his new wife Lollys’s son “Tyrion” as a joke/tribute, then he kills Lollys’s sister’s husband and expels her from the Stokeworth Castle, effectively making him Lord of Stokeworth, a post from which Cersei wants him removed.
While the show may include some version of these events — he is set to marry Lollys after all — they probably won’t follow them to the T. In the show, Bronn has taken on Illyn Payne’s role from the books in training Jaime to fight left-handed, and which we hope means he will follow Jaime in his travels.
In the books, Jaime heads to the Riverlands, but rumor has it the show has him heading to Dorne. Lending further credence to this idea comes from a supposed leaked audition tape where Bronn is in Dorne and has apparently just been beaten up by a couple of Sand Snakes.
While we sincerely hope Bronn survives Season 5, he’s probably not terribly important to the overall plot, and therefore could go the way of Pyp, Grenn, Jojen Reed, and other characters whom the show has killed off even though they're still alive in the books.
