One of the most famous images from the early days of Game of Thrones was that of Ned Stark (Sean Bean) sitting on the now-iconic Iron Throne, leaning on his greatsword, Ice. Sean recently did a Reddit AMA and a question came up asking who he would want to sit on the Iron Throne, and he gave a very shocking answer.

So who was it? Jon Snow? Daenerys? Hot Pie? Nope, the answer he gave is... drumroll please... Nigel Clough!

In case you’re racking your brain trying to figure out which noble house Nigel belongs to, don’t bother. He’s a former soccer player (or footballer, if that’s your preference) who now manages Sheffield United. If you’re having trouble picturing him, some intrepid individual altered Nigel’s Wikipedia page to read: “Nigel Howard Clough (born 19 March, 1966), First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm.”

Obviously, Sean is a big soccer fan, since he could have picked anyone in the world and he went with Nigel. While we haven’t heard what Nigel thinks of all this, we bet he’d be pretty impressed to learn of his new titles!
