Game of Thrones has so far introduced eight new characters for Season 5, but as we’ve seen in seasons past they might not be around for long (RIP Oberyn). So out of the newbies — High Sparrow, Obara Sand, Tyene Sand, Nymeria Sand, Doran Martell, Trystane Martell, Areo Hotah, and Yezzan — are any of them in immediate danger?

Out of the new faces, the only one who dies in the books is Yezzan. Yezzan is a slave owner who buys Tyrion Lannister and Jorah Mormont as slaves, then heads to Meereen. While there, Yezzan contracts the plague going around the city and dies. This event happens pretty late in A Dance with Dragons, the most recent book in the series, so we’re not sure if it will happen this season or not.
The one wild card here is Trystane Martell. Trystane is barely in the books, he doesn’t even ever appear on page, but he’s been changed a lot for the show. Toby Sebastian, who’s playing him, is 18 years old, while Trystane in the books is a little kid. Also, Trystane is Doran’s only son and heir on the show, while in the books he’s the youngest of three after Arianne and Quentyn Martell. It’s possible that Trystane’s storyline could incorporate some facets of both of his book siblings’ storylines, which could be bad news for Trystane.
In the books, Quentyn goes on a voyage to Meereen to convince Daenerys to marry him. Dany politely turns him down, so he decides he’s going to tame one of her dragons to prove his worth. The dragons fry him, and that’s the end of Quentyn. The show is rumored to be playing up a romantic storyline between Trystane and Myrcella Baratheon, so wouldn’t it just be so tragic if he’s forced to leave his love for another woman and then get killed by dragons? Hey, it could happen...
