It’s times like these we really wish we could see into the future à la a certain Jojen Reed. Why? Because we have to know if this latest Game of Thrones Season 5 rumor is true!

Brace yourself because Kristian Nairn (Hodor) claims neither he nor his bud Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) will appear during the fifth installment of the hit HBO show. Let us repeat that: Season 5 will be short one Stark and lots of Hodors.

We’re getting the news from Yahoo! News, which chatted up Kristian during a recent interview. It was then that the Irishman revealed the upsetting news.

“We have a season off and we have a year’s hiatus, solely because I imagine our storyline is up to the end of the books,” he said like it ain’t no thing.

A season off?! A year’s hiatus?! We’re freaking out not only because we were itching to see more of Old Tree Man come Season 5, but also because of what this could mean for the series as a whole. If the producers are pressing pause on Bran and Hodor’s TV storylines, which, as Kristian rightly said, have pretty much caught up with the book’s version, could they be doing the same with other characters and not, as many a fan has feared, verging off into uncharted, non-canon territory?

Only HBO knows. Let’s just hope George R. R. Martin is typing as furiously as he was at the Emmys.
