We recently saw a list of new characters who will be joining the already-humongous cast of Game of Thrones for Season 3, and now a new name has been confirmed.

Actress Kerry Ingram tweeted on Thursday, "Can't wait to start on game of thrones :0) xx," later saying “yes” when someone asked if she's playing Shireen Baratheon. The Berkshire ARTs Academy confirmed the news, tweeting, "Well done [Kerry Ingram] for getting the role of 'Stannis Baretheon' daughter 'Shireen' in Game Of Thrones S3."

Kerry recently made waves with her role as Matilda in the musical Matilda, based on the beloved Roald Dahl book, for which she won the 2012 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical along with three of her other young castmates.

Shireen, Stannis's young, sickly daughter, should be an interesting departure from the strong-willed Matilda. Kerry tweeted, "I've never done anything like this before so I'm a little bit nervous." But based on Game of Thrones' stellar track record with casting, we have a feeling she'll be perfect for the part.
