Hello, and welcome to the obsessive world of Wetpaint Entertainment, where we will be gleefully pouring over any and all Game of Thrones news from here on out. If you can't tell, we're excited.
To get started, let's talk about Season 3, Episode 6: "The Climb" (May 5). More specifically, the preview. We've all seen it, but what exactly can we learn from it?
We've broken it down shot by shot to see what Sunday's episode has in store.
Climbing the wall. The title of this episode clearly comes from Jon Snow's part of the story. In the first moments of the preview we see that he and his Wildling scouting party have reached the Wall, and now need to climb it. He seems worried. Ygritte mocks him for that, because that's just what she does, amazing cunnilinguss or no. At :22 we see said climb, and it's pretty epic.
Robb tries to make a deal. At :07 we see that Robb was serious about teaming up with Lord Frey again. He's in negotiations, and promises to give Frey whatever he needs — but it's not a what, it's a "who" that Frey's after.
Will Jaime be returned? At :12 we see Jaime and Brienne (hilariously dressed in pink) seated at Lord Bolton's table. Bolton claims that Tywin is too tied up with Robb to deal with anything else, but Jaime tells him, "he'll make time for you." We assume Jaime wants to be traded back to his father. Also of note: Brienne grabs her knife in this scene, but Jaime stays her hand. Is she thinking of fighting her way out of the situation?
Theon is still screwed. "If you think this has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention," Theon's gloriously crazed captor (who basically has to be Bolton's bastard Ramsay) tells him. Later in the promo we see Theon tortured more, because this show isn't nice to anyone, not even the viewers.
Convulsing boy. At :27 we see a young boy convulsing. Is that Rickon, or are we crazy? Whatever the case, a few shots later we see Osha, so this episode definitely involves the younger Stark boys and their convoy.
Berric. At :28 there's a quick shot of Beric Dondarrion, so we can also expect more from the Brotherhood Without Banners.
Arya shoots. Relatedly, at the end of the promo we see Arya, apparently on the road (or at least outside), say "there's someone out there" and then shoot an arrow.
Littlefinger and Varys. Another Littlefinger and Varys scene (:29)? Score!
Check it out for yourself below.
Catch the episode this Sunday, May 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
