Most of the episode titles for Game of Thrones Season 3 have been revealed, courtesy of WinterIsComing.net.
The titles give us a big clue as to how much of George R.R. Martin's third book, A Storm of Swords, will be used. We were told this season would include roughly the first half of the book, so some major events will take place ... and others will presumably have to wait until Season 4.
Here are the titles, as spoiled:
Episode 1 (to air Sunday, March 31 on HBO)— "Valar Dohaeris"
Episode 2 — "Dark Wings, Dark Words"
Episode 3 — "Walk of Punishment"
Episode 4 — "And Now His Watch is Ended"
Episode 5 — "Kissed by Fire"
Episode 6 — to be determined
Episode 7 — "The Bear and the Maiden Fair"
Episode 8 — to be determined
Episode 9 — "The Rains of Castamere"
Episode 10 — "Mhysa"
BOOK SPOILERS AHEAD!
Stop reading if you don’t want to read potential show spoilers, based on what happens in the book.
You can do a lot of show speculation just based on these titles. "Valar Dohaeris" — which means "all men must serve" — is a nice counterpoint to the GoT Season 2 finale, "Valar Morghulis."
"And Now His Watch is Ended" may refer to the death of Night's Watch Lord Commander Mormont during a mutiny.
"Kissed by Fire" certainly sounds like something involving Ygritte and Jon Snow. Maybe they get ... extra close at this point?
"The Bear and the Maiden Fair" sounds like maybe Brienne in the bear pit at Harrenhal.
"The Rains of Castamere" ... sounds like The Red Wedding. Oh, Robb.
"Mhysa" sounds like the chant of “Mother” that Daenerys gets when she frees the slaves in Yunkai. So will that be where the season ends? Will we have to wait to get to Meereen on Season 4?
What are your theories for the season?
