On Game of Thrones Season 3, Episode 5: "Kissed by Fire" Jon and Ygritte's fiery (pun intended) sexual tension finally culminated in a passionate caveside love scene, were Jon proved he knows one thing (cunninglingus. That thing is cunninglingus), and tough-talking Ygritte displayed her softer side. What can we expect next from this star-crossed lovers? Rose Leslie, who plays Ygritte, recently spoke to TV Guide about her character.
Rose didn't dish many spoilers, mostly focusing on what it was like to film the iconic — for book readers, anyway — love scene, which she thinks captured Jon and Ygritte's "pure love" beautifully. However, she did dish a little on a scene we can expect in this week's Episode 6: "The Climb."
As the preview suggests, this episode will involve Jon, Ygriette, Orell, and Tormund Giantsbane tackling a pretty insane task: scaling the Wall. And that feat isn't just tough for the characters — it was a challenge for the actors, too.
"[We] were sent on wall-climbing sessions and then graduated to ice wall-climbing here in London," Rose explained, apparently delighted with the experience. "I was ripped for the first time in my life."
All those lessons were put to the test in a marathon week-long shoot that left the actors clinging to a 50-foot constructed wall while snow machines and wind simulated the icy North. "I loved it," Leslie said. "It's going to be pretty spectacular."
And what about Ygritte's signature line, "You know nothing, Jon Snow," which she repeats about fifty million times in the books? You can expect to hear it scattered throughout the season, but Rose promises that the writers "aren't making it so it becomes nagging or annoying or continuously in every scene." Sounds like an improvement to us.
