Mondays are the worst because they are the furthest away from a new episode of Game of Thrones. Luckily, we have next week’s episode synopsis to keep us company. Here’s what’s going down in Season 3, Episode 7: “The Bear and the Maiden Fair”:
Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) was sadly absent from last night’s ep (no doubt off having more pep rallies with the Unsullied), but she’s back. What is she up to? The official synopsis says Dany will be “exhang[ing] gifts with a slave lord outside Yunkai.” Better watch out, guy. Daenerys likes her slave lords well done.
Meanwhile in King’s Landing, Sansa (Sophie Turner), Shae (Sibel Kekilli), and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) are reeling from the aftermath of Tyrion’s reveal that he and Sansa are to be married (aka the most awkward situation ever). Sansa “frets,” while Shae “chafes at Tyrion’s new situation.” We’re taking bets on which one of these gals will take the news better. Across the castle, Tywin “counsels the king.” Here’s some counsel: stop shooting people with your crossbow, Joffrey!
Melisandre and Gendry
In the storyline that has thrown us for a loop (a loop that makes us very concerned for Gendry’s safety), the Red Woman “reveals a secret to Gendry.” We’re guessing she lets slip about his parentage. She’ll probably be less-than-forthcoming concerning her plans for him, though who knows? Melisandre can be surprisingly honest about her methods (or is that just in comparison to other characters on this show?).
Though Jamie may have a “Get Out Of Harrenhal Free” card (or, more accurately, a “Get Out of Harrenhal with One Hand and Some of Your Father’s Fortune” card), Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) is not so lucky. In this episode, “she faces a formidable foe.” You can guess from the episode title and the promo what that might be. Grrr....
Which storyline are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments below!
