We are T-minus three Sundays until Game of Thrones returns to HBO and we’ve already sharpened our swords and hung our family sigils in preparation. So yeah, news that there might be a Game of Thrones movie has us in a bit of a tizzy.
Rumors that GoT could get the big-screen treatment aren’t exactly new. Kit Harington (Jon Snow), no stranger to films himself, told Variety last month that he could see Game of Thrones in theaters near you.
“I think it’s an option on the table, maybe,” he said. “It’s very filmic in its style already, so it’s possible.”
Possible just got a whole lot more likely after we heard a new report that the man himself, author George R.R. Martin, is onboard for casting his epic book series on yet an even bigger screen.
“It all depends on how long the main series runs,” he said in a recent interview. “Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for ten?”
Hear what else George had to say on the matter (including the outrageous amount he thinks a GoT feature film would cost) and tell us your hopes and dreams for a potential GoT movie!
