Pretty Little Liars References Game of Thrones, Makes Troian Bellisario’s Day

Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) usually gets the best one-liners on Pretty Little Liars, but on the most recent episode (Season 4, Episode 5: “Gamma Zeta Die”), she seemed to be particularly quippy. Which one of Spencer’s snarks made Troian’s day?

@Maya_Goldsmith yes! they kept the line in?!? My day is complete #GOT RT @emmylouuuuuu: The lanisters always pay their debts Priceless,” tweeted Troian presumably after watching the scene in which Spencer trades Game of Thrones references with the token Cicero College nerd. It went a little something like this:

Spencer: “A Lannister always pays his debts.”

Nerd: “You would like the Lannisters.”

Spencer: “I could give you the entire Targaryen speech from the end of season one, but I will not waste my breath.”

Yeah, it was pretty much our favorite exchange from last night’s ep, too. Troian is a massive GoT fan in real life, so we can only imagine her excitement over getting to utter those words. We totally think Spencer would be into the power dynamics and strategic subterfuge of GoT, too. Afterall, PLL and GoT have more in common than you may think. And Spence would totally be a Dany fan. An ambitious young woman with a strong sense of justice and a clever tongue? They’re two peas in a pod.

Did you enjoy Spencer’s GoT reference? Do you think it’s realistic that Spencer would be a fan? Let us know in the comments below!
