George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin Throw Low-Key Engagement Party in Malibu

If ever there was a Hollywood party we’re bummed we missed out on, it’s George Clooney’s engagement party. Sigh.

Sunday night, the man who said he’d never marry again celebrated his recent lifelong commitment to fiancée Amal Alamuddin with friends and family at Cafe Habana in Malibu, California according to E! News.

The guest list, while kept to close pals only, unsurprisingly included some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Cafe Habana owner Rande Gerber and wife Cindy Crawford were in attendance, as well as U2’s Bono. Um, was our invite lost in the mail?

“People got a show they didn’t expect and [other restaurant patrons] said it was the best Mother’s Day ever,” a witness said of the casual get-together.

George and Amal, a human rights attorney, officially agreed to tie the knot in April . The couple is reportedly preparing to walk down the aisle in September in a “very private” ceremony. So wait, this wedding won’t be broadcast as a TV special? Bummer.

And while we’re talking about their engagement, can we also talk about Amal’s ring? The giant 7-carat sparkler was allegedly designed in help from the Gravity star himself, and totally would have been enough to get us to say yes… even if the man holding the ring wasn’t George Clooney.

Congrats, you guys! We can’t wait for more wedding news as they continue to plan their big day.
