George W. Bush’s Family Dog Miss Beazley Dies After Fighting Cancer

Very sad news for former president George W. Bush and his family, as their pooch Miss Beazley had to be put to sleep this weekend. The dog was almost ten years old.

George revealed on Facebook that their Scottish terrier died on May 17 after a long battle with cancer. George had given Miss Beazley to wife Laura for her birthday while he was still in office.

"This weekend our beloved dog, Miss Beazley, was put to rest after a battle with lymphoma," George writes. "She was a source of joy during our time in Washington and in Dallas. She was a close companion to her blood relative, Barney. And even though he received all the attention, Beazley never held a grudge against him."

"She was a guardian to our cats, Bob and Bernadette, who like Laura and I will miss her," George continues. He was frequently photographed cuddling with the dog in the White House. The family's other Scottish terrier, Barney, died in February 2013 at the age of 12.

We wish the family all the best during this difficult time.
