Gia Allemand Celebration of Life Announced — On Her 30th Birthday
When Gia Allemand took her own life and passed away on August 14, 2013, friends, family, and fans were all shocked and broken-hearted over the sudden loss of the sweet Bachelor Season 14 alum. And while everyone mourned in their own way, there’s no end to the loss that many of them feel. Close friend and Bachelorette Season 6 alum Craig Robinson is among those who wants to keep her memory alive, and he announced on October 9 that he’s working on something special to do just that.
“Good morning kids. Details to come but there will be a bday celebration of Gia's life in NYC 12/20. Mark ur calendars now #bachelornation,” he tweeted on Wednesday. Although he hasn’t shared more details on Twitter, Craig tells Wetpaint Entertainment that he’s working to organize the memorial with Gia’s mom, Donna Micheletti — whose idea the event was — and her best friend Becca.
After her death, Gia’s friends from New Orleans — where she had been living — held a memorial for her, throwing flowers into the Mississippi River to honor their lost loved one. A viewing for close friends and family was held at Papavero Funeral Home on August 21, with her funeral the following day at Trinity Grace Church of Chelsea in NYC. Many of Gia’s close Bachelor Nation friends attended the ceremony.
Although exact details about the December ceremony have yet to be released, all we know for now is that it will be a fundraiser, and is taking place on what would have been Gia’s 30th birthday. Check back with Wetpaint soon for more information.
