Gia Allemand Death: Gruesome Details of Her Final Hours, Hanging Suicide

The details in this article are incredibly disturbing. Read on at your own risk.

Since Gia Allemand’s death on August 14, details have surfaced daily about the Bachelor star’s life and death. In the most recent report on Gia’s tragic suicide, TMZ reveals how Gia hung herself and what she did immediately leading up to her death.

According to the report, Gia had lunch with boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson, the day she attempted to end her life. During lunch, Gia apparently accused the New Orleans Pelicans player of being unfaithful, and he told police that when she exited the car, she admitted she still loved him. To which he replied, “I don’t love you anymore.” After lunch, they stopped to pick up some items at the drugstore, including Nyquil for Gia, and then Ryan dropped her off at home around 6pm.

The most gruesome part of the story is that Gia then took a vacuum cleaner cord and wrapped it “around her neck many times,” tying it to the center section of her spiral staircase from the handrail of the second floor. She is reported to have been on the phone with mother Donna Miccheletti when she hanged herself. TMZ reports that Gia “had gone silent” on the call and that her mother “tried in vain to communicate with her for 10 minutes.”

When Gia’s boyfriend returned home, he found her sitting on the stairs, having been without oxygen for 30-40 minutes. Gia was then rushed to New Orleans’ University Hospital where she was placed on life support on Monday, August 12. After it was shown that she had lost critical function in her brain and organs, she was taken off life support and pronounced dead on August 14.

Gia also left a suicide note on the dining room table in which she left all of her property to mom Donna. Her mom released a statement on August 16 refuting published reasons for Gia’s suicide, and saying that she intended "to speak about my dear daughter's life and death and will do so in an open-disclosure way with a trusted media source” following her funeral.

Some friends of Gia’s in New Orleans hosted a memorial service for her on August 17. A public viewing happened on Wednesday, August 21 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm at Papavero Funeral Home in Maspeth, NY. The funeral service took place on Thursday, August 22 at Trinity Grace Church of Chelsea in NYC at 11am.

Our thoughts are with Gia’s family and friends in this troubling, terrible time.
