Gia Allemand Death: Boyfriend Ryan Anderson “Feeling Guilty” — Report
Gia Allemand's death has taken its toll on her friends and family, but perhaps no one is more affected than boyfriend Ryan Anderson, who found her in their New Orleans home on August 12. Now, one close friend of Ryan's is expressing his concern for Ryan's well-being.
"It's really tough," says Ryan's former NBA teammate Greivis Vasquez to TMZ. "I have no words to describe how sad it is."
Greivis and Ryan played together on the New Orleans Hornets before Greivis was traded to the Sacramento Kings last month. Greivis got to know Gia well from the time she spent with Ryan. "I knew Gia — she was a great girl," Greivis says. "It's just hard."
"I know [Ryan's] feeling guilty, but he's such a great guy — strong, Christian guy," Greivis says. "We gotta support him, and we gotta be there for him."
"He's going through a tough time right now, but I'm sure he'll be back stronger," he says. "He is one of my best friends in the league — I love him so much."
Gia started dating Ryan in 2011, and the two lived together in New Orleans. Since Gia's suicide, Ryan has issued a statement, saying, "I'm deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received from family, friends, and fans."
"Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out, and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile," Ryan added in his statement.
Our thoughts continue to go out to Ryan and all of Gia's loved ones.
