When Does Glee Come Back After the Cory Monteith Tribute?

This week, every time we saw an ad for the Glee’s Season 5 Episode 3 Cory Monteith tribute, we seriously felt like we just couldn’t. Even though we stocked up heaps of tissues and made as much comfort food as our kitchens would allow, we knew it wouldn’t be enough. What makes it even harder to take is that now that the tribute has aired, Glee is going off the air for a while. But how long?

Glee’s original schedule was supposed to have uninterrupted episode up until winter hiatus in the middle, allowing us to frolic in the snow while waiting for McKinley/NYC to bring us our favorite folks in prime time. But with Cory’s shocking (understatement of the decade) death in July, everything changed. Now, it seems that Glee’s first “half” will consist of the two Beatles tribute episodes and Cory’s sure to be heartbreaking tribute, followed by a short break.

Word is, Fox will bring the show back for the winter starting Thursday, November 7, 2013 with Season 5, Episode 4, and episodes should continue as usual up until the winter hiatus. After that, Fox’s new show, Rake, takes over Glee’s midseason spot, and the second half of Season 5 won’t begin airing until the spring of 2014.

While we’ll be sad for so many reasons following Finn’s emotional episode “The Quarterback,” we’re honestly glad to have nearly a month to recover and regroup. During that time, we’ll be outpouring endless feelings onto message boards, breathing deeply, and taking time to tell the important people in our lives how much we love them. What will you do during the break?
