Here’s something that’s not crazy: The biggest hit of the summer is coming to Glee! No need to throw a wish in a well for it to happen.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the song that you haven’t been able to get out of your freakin’ head for the past six months — Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” — will be performed by New Directions in the Season 4 premiere, “The New Rachel.” Prepare to have it stuck in your head all over again.
We first had a feeling we’d be hearing this song when Darren Criss hinted that the show was trying to chase one of this summer’s biggest smashes, so now it’s finally been confirmed! True, this song has now been covered and lip-synced about a trillion times on YouTube — including by The Glee Project’s Damian and Cameron!— but of course the Glee version will top them all. And you should know that.
As far as we’re concerned, before this song came into our lives, we missed it so so bad. And if the song is good enough for Justin Bieber, it’s good enough for us.
But what do you feel — are you excited to hear what Glee does with the song, or are you a little sick of it and wishing that this is a “number” that Glee had lost?
