It’s official. The identity of the person who has been Catfishing Ryder (Blake Jenner) all this time has finally been revealed. And the Catfish is... Unique (Alex Newell)!
In Thursday’s Glee Season 4 finale — Episode 22: "All Or Nothing" — Ryder went ballistic on the glee club, insisting that he wouldn’t perform at Regionals until the person he’s been having a relationship with online would finally reveal themselves.
Marley (Melissa Benoist) stepped forward and admitted to being Ryder’s mystery woman. But the drama didn’t end there. As it turns out, Marley was only covering for her close friend, Unique. She knew that if Ryder figured out that Unique is the one he’d been getting so close to all this time, he would not react well.
But Unique wasn’t willing to let Marley take the fall for her. As Ryder stood in the hallway yelling at Marley, Unique slowly emerged from a corner and admitted that she has been “Katie” all along.
Unique enjoyed talking to Ryder, but she knew that her physical appearance would get in the way. So she used a picture of a pretty blonde to make him like her. But she feels a deep connection with Ryder. “I don’t want to lose what we have,” she tells him.
His answer is short and kurt. “We don’t have anything.”
It’s clear that Ryder is not happy about this reveal. “I'm not going to punch you in the face, but I’m also not going to talk to you ever again.”
Will time be able to mend this broken relationship, or do you think that Ryder really won’t ever speak to Unique again?
