How awesome would it be if Glee devoted an episode to classic TV theme songs? Well, we just got the next best thing, as Darren Criss (Blaine) recently performed an impromptu medley of kid-friendly theme songs from the ‘90s. Cowabunga!

Darren recorded a video for
BuzzFeed in which people randomly shouted out names of TV shows, and he would immediately start singing the show’s theme by heart. And yes, it’s just as amazing as it sounds.

Darren’s best theme song rendition was unquestionably his version of DuckTales. It seems safe to say that he was a big Scrooge McDuck fan as a kid, since Darren knew every word of that one. Darren also did an admirable job on Fresh Prince of Bel-AirReading Rainbow, and All That. Will Smith would be proud.

And proving that not even Darren is perfect at everything he does (shocking, we know), he had a little trouble recalling the lyrics to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and especially 7th Heaven. Apparently, he was not as addicted to that sappy family drama as we were. (“The answer is hoooome...”)

Watching this video makes a long for the days of theme songs with words — and we’re now a little bummed that Glee doesn’t have one to sing along to. But maybe Darren can write one and the show can add it in for Season 5? Get on that, buddy.
