Glee may have been overlooked at the Emmy Awards last year, but it’s getting a bit of Emmy love this year, as a Glee Season 1 guest star has just been chosen to host the ceremony!

Neil Patrick Harris will host the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards, airing on CBS on September 22, according to Deadline. Neil previously hosted the Emmys back in 2009, which was the last time CBS aired the event.

Indeed, the How I Met Your Mother star is a popular TV host these days. He will also be hosting this year’s Tony Awards, airing June 9 on CBS. Evidently, CBS loves him almost as much as we do.

“I couldn’t be more honored and excited to be hosting this year’s Emmy Awards,” Neil says. “And what perfect timing — I’ll just do the exact same script I’m about to use for the Tonys. ‘And the Emmy for Best Revival of a Musical goes to Breaking Bad!’ See, told you it works.”

Sadly, NPH’s busy schedule has prevented him from reprising his role as Schue’s nemesis Bryan Ryan from Season 1. Luckily, we’re certain to get our fix of him singing and dancing in the next few months!

And if Neil feels like stuffing the Emmy ballot in Glee’s favor — much like Rachel did when Kurt was running for student office at McKinley last season — we promise not to tell on him. We swear.
