We’re only about a month into Glee‘s summer break, but the wait for Season 5 already feels like too much to bear. Luckily, Darren Criss (Blaine) has been hard at work filming a web series, and the chance to see his face again is helping dull the pains of our Glee withdrawals.
What’s more, if you’re a fan of recently-resurrected comedy Arrested Development, you’ll definitely want to pay attention to who he’s locking lips with.
Darren and actress Mae Whitman play young lovers seeking counseling in Friends vet Lisa Kudrow’s Web Therapy. Mae has most recently appeared on Parenthood and alongside Emma Watson in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. However, Arrested fans will instantly recognize her as Ann Veal, the ridiculously dull and forgettable girlfriend of Michael Cera’s character.
That’s right: Ann — of all people — gets to make out with Darren Criss. Like, repeatedly. To quote practically every character on Arrested Development: HER?!... Really?
Darren and Mae’s three-episode stint on the web series is currently up on Hulu. In each installment, Lisa Kudrow’s quirky doc Fiona Wallice attempt to help Blair (Mae) and Augie (Darren) navigate the challenges of their online relationship.
She’s a successful self-published graphic novelist while he’s a chalk artist. They met online and have been dating for a while, but Blair and Augie haven’t met in person just yet.
Things take a hilarious turn when they finally meet up in person, and by the end of it — well, one of the two ends up in a the closet.
