News of Cory Monteith's (Finn) shocking and sudden death rocked all of Hollywood on Saturday night. Countless celebrities took to Twitter to share their shock at the news, and plenty of his co-stars have spoken out, as well. Now, Glee producers, Fox, and 20th Century Fox Television have released a statement to TV Line regarding Cory’s untimely passing.

“We are deeply saddened by this tragic news,” the statement reads. “Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”

Cory’s girlfriend of a year and a half (and perhaps Glee’s biggest star) Lea Michele (Rachel) has yet to make an official statement about her boyfriend’s death.

Cory entered rehab for substance abuse at the end of April 2013 and left treatment a month later. By all appearances, he seemed to be making good progress, and everyone on the show said they could not wait to have him back for Season 5. Now, it is clear that Finn will never again walk the halls of McKinley High... or any other Glee location.

The idea of Glee without Finn is hard enough. But the idea of a world without Cory? Truly heartbreaking.
