Cory Monteith (Finn) has been laid to rest — the Glee star’s body was cremated on July 16 after his mother, brother, and girlfriend Lea Michele (Rachel) held a private viewing — but that won’t be the end of the events to help honor and pay tribute to the beloved Glee actor. E! Online reports that Glee’s cast and crew will hold a memorial service later this week.

E! reports that the service is still currently being planned, but it will be held in the Paramount lot in Hollywood where Glee is filmed. Amber Riley (Mercedes) wrote on Twitter that the cast has already met together to remember Cory, but this new service will likely include more cast and crew members than were able to make that first meeting.

We’ve already heard reports that Lea Michele has stepped in and taken charge of planning Cory’s funeral. It’s currently unclear if that funeral is one and the same with this memorial service, or if it will be a separate event. If we had to guess, though, we’d venture that there will be two different services.

Glee creator Ryan Murphy announced on July 20 that the show will have a Cory Monteith tribute episode during Season 5. It won’t be within the first two episodes, as production is already underway, but the episode is being written now. However, Ryan said that the cast might delay filming the episode until later if everyone feels too emotionally drained.

As much as we want to see the tribute episode, we fully understand that the cast and crew might need more time before they are ready. No rush, you all — take all the time you need.
