Glee star Lea Michele (Rachel) decided not to leave the show, even after her boyfriend Cory Monteith’s (Finn) sudden passing on July 13, but one other actress has confirmed that she has made the decision to end her time on Glee.

“This is going to be my last season,” Jayma Mays (Emma) told Access Hollywood at the the red carpet premiere of her Smurfs 2 movie on July 28.

Glee has already been renewed for both Seasons 5 and 6, but Jayma confirms that Season 5 will be her last. “I’m finishing up this season, so I’m not sure what direction and who’s coming on and who’s not,” she says.

While we’re sad to hear that yet another original Glee character will be leaving us, we admit we’re very relieved to hear that she’ll still be around throughout the end of the season. Will (Matthew Morrison)and did just get married! Can you imagine if Emma was just suddenly gone? We don’t think our (admittedly already fragile) hearts could take that.

Plus, it’s not like Jayma had much of a choice in leaving. She has a starring role in CBS’s new pilot, The Millers, and though she’s able to do both shows through the end of this season, staying on for more than that just isn’t possible with her schedule.
