This morning Cory Monteith’s (Finn) girlfriend, Lea Michele (Rachel), spoke publicly for the first time after the Glee star’s sudden and shocking death. Now, another original Glee actor is speaking out for the first time as well.

On July 29, OG New Directions member Kevin McHale (Artie) took to Instagram to share his memories of the late Glee star.

“So thankful that I and so many of you got to experience Cory's overwhelming kindness, humor and talent,” Kevin wrote on Monday morning. “There will not be a day that goes by that I won't miss him. Thank you all for your incredible support and patience.”

He included a behind-the-scenes photo of himself with Cory from that ridiculous Season 3 Episode 12 performance of “La Cucaracha.” Cory is happy, smiling, and goofy: Just the way we like to remember him.

The cast of Glee is scheduled to return to set and begin filming Season 5 later this week. Though it will be an emotional time, Glee creator Ryan Murphy says that the cast and crew lean on each other like family, so it is helpful for them to be all together. The show is currently writing a special tribute episode to honor Cory, and it is expected to air early in Season 5.
