In the weeks since her boyfriend Cory Monteith (Finn) tragic and unexpected death on July 13, Glee’s leading lady Lea Michele (Rachel) has not been seen out in public once. Now, the UK’s Daily Mail has the very first photos of Lea taken since news of Cory’s passing.
The photos, which were taken on Sunday, July 28, are exclusive to the Daily Mail, and show a somber-looking Lea sitting in the passenger seat of a friend’s car in Los Angeles. The Glee star is dressed in black. She’s wearing dark sunglasses to cover her eyes — and here’s the most heartbreaking part — that silver “Cory” necklace she wore so many times is the past very much appears to still be hanging around her neck.
Yes, even in death, Cory is still close to Lea’s heart. And she has a very present physical reminder of that every day. See the photos here.
The Daily Mail reports that Lea and her friend seemed to be having an intense conversation as they made their way to a Bel Air home. News of Lea’s first public photographs comes only a day after the Glee star took to Twitter to thank fans for all their support, and to pledge her devotion to Cory.
“Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart,” Lea tweeted on Monday morning. It is the first time she has spoken publicly since his passing. We’re glad to see that Lea is slowly starting to open up, but its clear that Cory’s death has had an immeasurable impact on her life. She will obviously need plenty of time to heal. If she doesn't feel like stepping out in public for a while after this, we would absolutely understand.
