We first heard about a month ago that Glee Season 5 had snagged American Idol Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert for a potentially recurring role, and now we’re getting some new information about just what his mystery role will entail.

Previously, all we knew is what Glee creator Ryan Murphy tweeted: That Adam is joining the cast of the show. On August 7, Chris Colfer (Kurt) offered a very juicy bit of scoop about the exact nature of Adam’s role. He’s going to be Kurt’s new rival in NYC!

"Apparently, Adam Lambert is joining the show, and he's going to play my nemesis,” Chris said during a visit to Live! With Kelly and Michael. “I would love to have a nemesis."

One of the few spoilers we have for Season 5 so far is that Kurt will be joining a band. Anyone else think that Glambert and his fabulous guyliner might just be part of that band? Dramatic.

We still don’t know what exactly will make the two guys butt heads, but Chris reveals that he’d actually be okay if Kurt decided to get back some of his Season 1 snark and pick a few fights with new rival.

"I almost want to see Kurt be mean. I know no one else does. It would be fun for me,” he says.

What do you think about this new rivalry? And could all the drama possibly lead to — plug your ears, Klaine fans! — sexual tension? Glee’s Season 5 premiere can’t get here soon enough!
