The show may be called Glee, but that doesn’t mean things are always peachy keen and happy-go-lucky all the time. Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Blake Jenner (Ryder) back at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards on August 11, and he told us exclusively that when the show returns for Season 5 on September 26, the New Directions will be headed for some trying times.

“We’re dealing with some [...] just some good teenage problems,” Blake tells Wetpaint. “Some good teenage problems, backed up by some good Beatles music.”

Yes, you heard that right: Beatles music. Glee’s Season 5 premiere will be part one of a two-part tribute to The Beatles. So far, all we know for sure is that one of the songs will take place at a crazy, colorful carnival. Other than that, information about what exactly to expect is a bit hard to come by.

But Blake will tease this: “I can say that you’re all in for a bunch of classics and a bunch of great dancing.”

While we’re stoked to find out just which Beatles classics will appear in the episode, we’re definitely intrigued by Blake’s hint about teenage problems. Obviously, the storyline with Ryder and his Catfish was a major plot point at the end of last season. Learning that the person he thought was a girl named Katie was actually fellow glee club member Unique (Alex Newell) sent Ryder into an emotional tailspin. In fact, the football player was so upset, he up and quit the New Directions then and there!

One thing we do know for sure: Blake is not off Glee for good. The Season 4 newbie was promoted to a series regular for this season. We have a feeling that Ryder won’t stay away from the New Directions for long.
