Hold on tight, Glee fans, because you’re probably not going to like this newest E! scoop: Word is, they’re casting a new male recurring character for Season 5 who sounds a bit like a substitute for our beloved Finn (Cory Monteith), which is hard to imagine, since no one could ever replace him.
According to some news released on August 16, “Glee is looking to cast a new male lead, and this character will be a major recurring guest star in the new season.” Okay, fair enough — we always love to see some attractive new guys roaming the halls of McKinley High. After all, it seems like just yesterday we were meeting Jake and Ryder, wondering if we would like them at all, if they would replace some of our favorites.
So, what has us worried, exactly? Well, according to the spoiler “he’ll be handsome” and “older than the kids at McKinley,” and it appears that he may be located in New York City.
Well, interestingly, it also specifies that the new character may be older than the kids in New York as well, and is going to be an awesome singer. And while the singer part is a given (It’s Glee, duh), we’re intrigued by the handsome older-ness of this new man entering our Glee world. Will he be a teacher at NYADA? A love interest for Kurt or, dare we say it, Rachel?
