Okay, so this is sort of a good news-bad news sitch. First the good news: Cory Monteith’s (Finn) picture has been added to the Glee Season 4 DVD cover artwork, which is a great decision. However, the artwork change will mean the DVDs will be released a bit later than expected.
Glee Season 4 now comes out on DVD on October 1st, according to TV Shows On DVD. This is two weeks later than the previously announced date of September 17. Looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer to relive all of our favorite Season 4 moments over and over again!
However, waiting two weeks is a small price to pay to get to see more of the cast members on the cover, including Cory, who passed away suddenly last month. The original cover had featured just Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) in front of the Statue of Liberty, with the Ohio characters not represented at all. What’s up with that?!
Now, Kurt and Rachel are accompanied by Santana in front of the Empire State Building on the NYC side of the box. On the other side are New Direction members Blaine and Brittany, along with McKinley staff members Finn and Sue.
In addition to all 22 episodes, the DVDs will offer a slew of bonus features, including deleted scenes, a featurette called “Movin’ On Up: Glee in NYC,” and something called “Blaine's Time Capsule.” We have no idea what “Blaine’s Time Capsule” is, but we’re sure we’re going to love it.
So do you think you’ll pick up Season 4 on DVD, or do you need some time to sleep on the decision? If nothing else, this two-week delay will allow you a little more time to save up the necessary cash for this very-important purchase. Every penny counts, right?
