Next week — Thursday, October 10, 2013 — Glee will air it's tribute to Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson). The heart-wrenching installment is Season 5, Episode 3 will be called “The Quarterback,” and though many familiar faces will be back, not all of the original cast members will be will be. E! Online has compiled a list of which cast members are included in the emotional script and which aren’t.
Several original Glee Club members are set to return for the tribute, despite having previously limited roles in Season 5. E!’s Kristin Dos Santos reports, “Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones), Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang), Mark Salling (Puck), and Jayma Mays (Emma Pillsbury) all will appear in the Cory/Finn tribute.”
While heavily-pregnant Heather may have felt that she was not emotionally or physically ready to participate in the tribute episode, Dianna’s absence is more troubling. Quinn and Finn of course dated on the show, and by all accounts Cory and Dianna were close in real life. Still, it’s important to note that just because Heather and Dianna aren’t in the script, that doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t have cameos in the highly-anticipated episode.
Filming of the tribute episode — which will air on Oct. 10 after the two Beatles episodes — has been understandably difficult for the close-knit cast. Naya Rivera (Santana Lopez) called it “the hardest thing to do,” and Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester) told E! “We've mourned Cory, but now we're mourning Finn. So it's kind of like two people in that one person.”
Cory passed away on July 13 in Vancouver from a combination of heroin and alcohol.
