Our weeks were made when we found out that Glee's Amber Riley will be heading to Dancing With the Stars for the ballroom competition show's 17th season. Sure, it's not as good as having Amber back on Glee has a series regular, but it's a nice consolation prize for her fans. Plus, we're pretty sure Amber is going to go far on DWTS. We're talking potential finals material.
Why? Well, to prove that it's not just our Glee bias talking, here are four reasons we think Amber will rake in the votes on Dancing With the Stars.
She has a great personality. It's hard for Dancing With the Stars contestants to get far if they aren't likeable, so it's a good thing Amber oozes charm. She's sweet, well spoken, and a ton of fun — we're positive her pre-dance video packages and post-dance live interviews will win the audience over.
She has dance skills — but not too many dance skills. Any Glee fan knows Amber has natural dance ability, which her DWTS pro should easily be able to transform into amazing ballroom moves by the end of the season. However, Amber is primarily a singer and actress, not a dancer, which means she'll probably avoid the "ringer" label that has marred some DWTS contestants' runs.
She's a great performer. Technique only gets you so far on Dancing With the Stars, and we have no doubt that Amber will bring a major performance factor; actors normally do, and Amber has had plenty of practice hamming it up, diva style. She's already great to watch on Glee, and we'd put good money on her lighting up the ballroom from Week 1 on.
She has the star factor. When it comes to getting votes, it helps to have devoted fans before the show even starts. We all know how intense the Glee fandom can be, and Amber already has over a million Twitter followers to rally to her cause. Yeah, this girl is gonna stick around.
