Let’s hope Sebastian Smythe (Grant Gustin) can run fast. The well-known Glee bad guy was just cast as the super quick superhero The Flash, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Grant will appear as The Flash (aka Barry Allen) in three episodes of CW’s second season show, Arrow. Specifically, try and catch him as he bolts across the screen during episodes 8, 9, and 20. The most exciting news, though? Episode 20 will reportedly serve as a “backdoor pilot” for a potential spinoff series all about The Flash.

“Part of the fun for the audience … is to see how we view our Arrow take on the Flash legacy,” Arrow co-creator Andrew Kreisberg explained. “Some of it will feel very familiar to DC Comics, some of it hopefully will feel different, fresh and exciting.”

The Warbler we love to hate is also thrilled for the change to stretch his wings (and legs!) in the new role, telling The Hollywood Reporter, “I’m unbelievably excited. I’ve been a lifelong fan of DC Comics, so I can’t be more honored and can’t wait to get started.”

It’ll be a nice change of pace pun very much intended to see Grant play a good guy for a change. But what do you think? Will you watch him dash around in a red onesie? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
