As we get closer to tonight’s Glee Season 5 Episode 3: “The Quarterback,” which pays tribute to Cory Monteith, we’re finding out even more about what to expect. And we’re blown away to learn about the way in which the cast filmed the episode.

E! Online is revealing that tonight’s episode begins several weeks after Finn’s death and will not include his funeral or how he died. Instead, the plot focuses on someone stealing his letterman jacket from his time on the McKinley football team.

This leads to Schue (Matthew Morrison) inviting the characters to honor Finn by singing songs for him. Rachel’s (Lea Michele) “Make You Feel My Love” will come at the end of the episode, while what is described as a “show-stopping moment” happens when Santana gets physical with someone. We wonder who this someone is, since new girlfriend Dani (Demi Lovato) will not appear.

Apparently, the episode was so tough to film that just about every scene was done with only one take. "Almost everything in that episode is from the first take of every performance because the actors and the crew had a really hard time shooting it,” Ryan Murphy says. "I've never seen a crew that you can't continue shooting because they've left the room sobbing.”

“It was very hard,” Ryan adds. “I struggled even working on it because what they felt, not just about Finn but Cory."

We can’t believe the day has finally come for the episode to air, and we look forward to seeing what Ryan and the cast have put together. We can guarantee we’ll be sobbing while watching it as much as the cast was while filming it.
