We already heard the news that Jonathan Groff’s (Jesse St. James) sexy new HBO dramedy, Looking, has been picked up for eight episodes. Now, the Glee guest star’s series has an official premiere date.

Looking will debut on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at 10:30 p.m. on HBO. What’s more, it’s landed a prime time slot right after HBO’s angsty hit Girls. Season 3 of the Lena Dunham show will premiere the Sunday before, January 12.

Jonathan’s new series revolves around three friends — played by Jonathan, Smash actor Frankie J. Alvarez, and Australian soap actor Murray Bartlett who live in San Francisco and are exploring  “the fun and sometimes overwhelming options available to a new generation of gay men.”

Prior to Looking, Jonathan had a recurring role on Starz’s now-cancelled Boss. More recently, he finished filming The Normal Heart, an HBO movie directed by Glee creator Ryan Murphy, in which Taylor Kitsch played Jonathan’s love interest.

Though we’re thrilled to see Jonathan booking so many new projects, the obvious downside is that this doesn’t leave much room in his schedule for a potential return to Glee. We haven’t seen Jesse St. James since way back during Season 3 Nationals. Luckily, though, he and former Spring Awakening co-star Lea Michele (Rachel) are still the best of friends in real life. Now, if only she could work on convincing him to come back for another guest spot!
